Medline Canada

Medline.ca is creating an ecommerce website to reduce reliance on paper catalogs and make it easier for customers to order products. I provide expert guidance on best practices, advise on scope and timeline for copy work, and created the copy style guide. In 2024 I wrote 7,200 product descriptions and 5,700 product headlines. I also edited the product copy to conform to the style guide for the physical catalog, which I helped create. Currently I’m revising the website marketing copy and continuing to write product copy.

In addition to copy work, I managed 6 interns during an unexpected personnel loss. I ensured balanced distribution of work, identified and resolved issues, and helped them prepare to present in front of stakeholders. I also facilitated communication between translation services and the Canada team, using my knowledge of translation between languages to help develop a style guide and preemptively resolve anticipated issues.

Medline LATAM

I facilitated communication between the LATAM and U.S. teams to help LATAM get the data they needed to standup an ecommerce website, copy, images, and attribute data, and make it easier for customers to purchase products throughout Latin America. I passed requirements and data between both parties, investigating and resolving any issues around missing or incorrect data.

SKU Marketing Names

This goal of this project for Medline USA was to expand 250,000 abbreviated item descriptions of 60 characters into short, customer-friendly item descriptions of up to 250 characters. I helped present the solution that was ultimately implemented, which was to train numerous customer service agents, who were familiar with the items, in the style guide, which I helped develop. I also created and presented the training material, in addition to helping define the success criteria for individual units of work and reviewed descriptions to ensure they met the standard.

The results of this project were cleaner item descriptions throughout the customer journey, which made it easier for customers to select the correct product without contacting Medline for additional assistance and reduced returns.

  • Develop and present training material to teach other parts of the business how to submit copy and image updates to the website team.

  • Create long-form copy to educate customers on medical conditions and possible treatments.

  • Communicate project updates to leadership and stakeholders at regular intervals.

  • Research any of the vast variety of products available for sale.

  • Review copy for regulatory compliance.
